In the later part of the 1800;s, A man called Orville Gibson started to make mandalins and guitars,His reputation soon spread, and in 1902 he set up "GIBSON GUITAR CO"LTD

Part way through the 1940"s A man called LES PAUL approached the Gibson Corporation with his new design of the elctric guitar,Unfortunatly for LES PAUL at this time gibson corporation was not impressed with the design.

A few years down the road Gibson tracked down LES PAUL and brought him back to the companys design table.

IN 1952 the GIBSON LES PAUL was introduced to the market
